Description
The Skoda Octavia was a small family car produced by Czechoslovakian manufacturer AZNP and it was introduced in January 1959, being called the Octavia due to the fact that it was the eighth car produced by the nationalised Skoda company. The saloon was produced until 1964, when it was replaced by the Skoda 1000 MB. An estate version was introduced in 1961, and remained in production until 1971. This example, finished in Skoda beige livery was restored in 2013. Purchesed new by a Skoda garage in 1961, this car had two previous owners, and after 19, 845 miles, it became surplus to requirements and was then placed aside in a storage garage. The second owner purchased the car in 2012. In its current ownership. a complete bare metal re-spray has been carried out with new front and back panels and also two new sills, at a total cost of £2500. In addition new tyres were fitted , the master cylinder was rebuilt, new brake seals were fitted and all brightwork was reconditioned at the time. The brakes have more recently received some attention, and the differential has been reconditioned. It is offered with a v5c, an old buff logbook and a selection of correspondence including a letter confirming the mileage in 1961.
