Description

Only 10 of these Laverda-specific full cradle frame kits were produced by Harris, and a further 12 of the Kawasaki-type up and over (the upper crankcase) frame kits produced, but adapted from the Japanese fitting.
The bike has the original Harris twin headlight fitted but comes with a single headlamp option if the fairing is removed. The seat was adapted from the original Harris seat into one from an Aprilia.
The bike was converted from a TS1200 Mirage and is showing only 7295 miles. I have no reason to doubt the mileage is correct and from the condition of the Laverda parts it looks reasonable. The limited MOT slips available support this.
The TS Mirage 1200 was registered in 1980.
In 1985 Phil Todd of Motodd stripped, tuned and blueprinted the engine, new high compression pistons, 4C cams, bored out carburettors, inlet stubs and inlet ports. Bigger valves fitted. Reshaped combustion chamber, opened out exhaust ports. Crank rebuilt.
In 1986 a Harris Magnum 2 kit was purchased from Windy Corner. All paperwork included in the sale.
New Marzocchi M1R forks were purchased from Slater
In 1988 new Brembo fully floating discs and 4 piston calipers and brackets purchased from Slater.
The bike was then ready for the road in 1990 and registered on a new plate.
It seems that the bike was then stored until 1997 and then sold.
The bike was then sold in 2009 (due to illness). It was then stored until 2011.
The bike was then returned to Harris to have a pair of PVM Dymag-style wheels fitted and a new Nitron adjustable shock absorber fitted. The invoice came to almost 3000 pounds.
The current owner bought it around 3 years ago .
There is a large folder with invoices since original purchase of the bike in 1980.
The carburettors have just been ultrasonic cleaned and fitted new main/ pilot jets and float valves and gaskets. A new AGM battery has also been fitted.
The bike is in very good condition and the asking price is 14, 000 GBP, a fair price for such a rare and well specified bike.

The bike is currently in Scotland but delivery in UK (or shipping abroad) can be arranged at cost on your behalf.
