A 1991 Audi quattro turbo 20V broke auction records, fetching £72, 050, including premium, double its pre-sale lower estimate, at Classic Car Auctions’ biggest one-day sale in which 166 cars were offered to a packed Warwickshire Exhibition Centre on 23rd September.

The car is an early 20V RR model and was used by Audi as a press car as were the other GNV registered cars. In the pictures is the car featured in the February 1990 Fast Lane magazine. Unfortunately the car suffered a catastrophic engine failure around 17 years ago and the car has been off the road since. There is no engine included in the sale, everything else is with the car, gearbox, drive shafts, etc. The car requires a full restoration and some bodywork is required prior to it needing a full paint. All of the panels are straight though and everything is original including the glass that is etched with the registration.
