Beschreibung

First registered in 1936 this Rover 12 Tourer is an original UK right hand drive car, restored in 1992/ 3 by Upton Noble Garage in Somerset and remarkably preserved throughout. Finished in British Racing Green with Black mud guards on Brown leather interior with Green carpet.

The bodywork is very good, with the paintwork displaying an excellent deep shine with no fading, no rust on the panels and all chrome on the body very good. The front bumper has some surface rust but the all important Rover emblems remain very good. The windscreen has perfect, unmarked glass with the screen still retaining the ability to be lowered. Rear brake lights and indicators have been sensitively retrofitted to the rear but are easily removed without altering the original coachwork.

Inside the car is wonderfully presented having been very sensitively preserved and not over restored. During restoration the carpets and trim panels were retrimmed to original patterns whilst the seats remain entirely original with gorgeous and very characterful patina.

Mechanically the car is very good, always starts on the button first time and runs cool thanks to a recently upgrade and re-core to the radiator. The car makes very good power, will cruise at a comfortable 50-60 or much more if you desire. As a 1936 car this vehicle is fitted with the Rover Freewheel mechanism to boost economy and range, a feature which remains fully operational and switchable from the dashboard on original controls. Most notably the car presented with an incredible selection of spares including: a spare engine, spare gearbox, bumpers, spare panels and many other service, body and mechanical items – making this a very easy car to preserve for many years to come.

The car is supplied with many original and model specific books including an original instruction manual (1935), original Abingdon works engine service manual (circa 1935), ‘The Book of the Rover’ (1948) and Notice of Freewheel Mechanism (1936). The very significant collection of parts is included in the price with the car.
