Launched in 2002 the TF version represented a dramatic stylistic departure for the MGF and includes a huge number of engineering changes, which included a new suspension system (the car was now sprung by coil-over damper units with a brand new multi-link rear) extensive body strengthening, and a new faster 2. 8 turn lock to lock steering rack making this little sports cars really nimble on the road
Updating the name from just F to the TF, at the launch caused a few ruffled feathers in MG enthusiast circles at the time, although as we have seen, this was by no means the first and nor the last of re-launching names from the past for modern cars (Alfa seem to do this for every new model nowadays)
Our car is a Special Edition introduced in March 2003, called the Cool Blue SE
She is based on the 135bhp (they also did a 115bhp too)
Cool Blue SE is distinguished by its distinctive blue hood and unique Alcantara blue seats, a Momo leather/ alloy gear knob, leather steering wheel, wind stop and ash grey fascia and not to forget those staple [and very attractive] six-spoke "Abingdon" 16" alloy wheels along with standard fit chrome grille pack and front fog lamps
The wheels completely transform her look, giving her a slightly aggressive stance
Finished in "Starlight Silver" (there were also Blue & Black versions) she is very pretty and as you can see from the photo's she is in immaculate condition
All books and service voucher booklet validate the super low mileage, with the first lady owner using her for 14. 000 miles (serviced by the original MG dealership) and the balance up to the present 25. 500 miles having been covered by one of our sons
All servicing works since have been carried out by our own technicians here in Kensington
