We are selling a 1974 Brazilian VW Split Screen Kombi, recently imported, Duty Paid and NOVA cleared. Needs registering with DVLA (will provide the forms) and MOT (although as over 40 years old it will not need MOT after 20 May 2018, but will require to be self certified as to it's roadworthiness).
Once registered with DVLA you can have the UK plates made up and she is ready to be driven on the road (although can be taken for MOT when ready with just insurance.)
The following is a thoroughly honest description warts and all...
The upstairs is sound enough, but underneath the vehicle needs attention with a couple of outriggers possibly needing to be replaced, and a fair bit of welding/ replacing on the beams. This would need to be done to be considered roadworthy. The horn button is missing which it would also need for MOT and costs anything from £30 on ebay.
The cargo floor looks bad from beneath but is pretty solid in the cabin, the engine runs well and brakes, gears etc are fine.
Electrics-lights and indicators not working since arrival in UK.
Seating-There is one pretty good condition bench seat in the cargo compartment (not fixed at the moment), and decent seating in the cab, although there is rip on the drivers seat. It's a blank canvas so ready to fit out for camper interior if you wish.
This is a decent project bus but it is definitely a project as the chassis welding is going to be about £1000-1500 at a guess, and although sound, you might as well replace the cargo floor while you're at it, at £165 total for left and right hand sections from VW Heritage, other brands are available ;)

Indicator switch (works but end snapped off)

Fuel Gauge
Cargo floor left and right sides (not essential, but looks a mess from underneath)
Door handle, Inner (There is one which is loose, and can be used to open both sides until second one bought and fixed on).
We bought this bus as were already importing one Splittie and by including another it made the shipping more economical. We have considered doing this one up but having two projects on the go would be just too much.

If you are after a Splittie to have some fun with then this could well be for you. Once you have got the welding sorted you are pretty much up and running without too much work to get her on the road for the summer, and then there's alot of fun to be had here:)
