This is a 1972 Triton 650cc, originally a 1958 ish Dominator 600cc.
This was re registered as a Triton in 1972 by a prominent member of The Norton Owners Club with a connection to Norton Race Department.
Comprises a 650cc T110 engine and gearbox, standard wideline tank with front side indents for dropped handlebars.
Alloy central oil tank, Dunlop alloy rims, new front tyre and correct period speedometer in the headlamp which looks to be the original Dominator item. The headlight glass itself is a concave aftermarket unit.
The charging system works., the ammeter shows a charge , the battery is housed in a professionally made carrier under the gearbox.... K2f mag and Monobloc carb....
Sounds really good, I think the red frame and chainguard is original, and possibly the seat also.
V5 as a Triton in my name and new DVLA rules mean no tax or MOT required[ I think}.
There is a small history file with an early receipt for the Dominator from 1960, Moto of Catford for £189. 00 and other correspondence from that period.
This is genuine period Triton, constructed by a Norton Club Member in 1972 or thereabouts... not a freshly built concoction!
