Welcome to the sale of my MX5 MK1 Eunos Roadster, this is the more desirable Eunos spec model which came with lots of extras as standard from factory. Additionally, it benefits from lots of tasteful upgrades making it more comfortable and enjoyable for modern driving. There is no rust or corrosion anywhere, the interior is also exceptionally clean and tidy. The MOT history is exceptionally clean and its never had any rust or major issues. Last MOT just noted a couple of brake hoses, these have since been replaced. Fresh 12-mth MOT till July 2026, further details below.
Red paintwork is in very good condition for its age, genuine low mileage only 92k. This car has been very well looked after and everything is in good working order. This model is a more sportier version with fully adjustable Rokkor Coilovers the suspension rebuilt with poly bushes. Genuine MazdaSpeed engine mounts also fitted in the engine bay. Following the suspension work, the car went to a specialist for suspension alignment to optimise setup and handling. This shows in its current handling and smooth drive. It has a factory Limited Slip differential, stainless steel kick plates and a reinforced engine strut brace. The car has never been welded, plus all the original factory spot welds are still showing on the rear sills and arches.
It is fitted with stylish lightweight 15-inch AEM deep dish alloy wheels and Uniroyal RainSport 2 tyres all with good tread. Side indicators upgraded for LED lights. The coolant radiator was replaced with a new one, these often go brown in colour and begin to fail. New and larger high quality Yuasa battery. On the interior, the original Eunos seats are re-trimmed in black leather and are in excellent condition. Plus seats have been wired with heating pads for winter use, easily operated by a switch in the centre console.
Car has been well looked after including a new uprated 1. 8 Exedy clutch and flywheel, capable of handling additional performance as desired. Full engine service, cambelt and water-pump all recently changed. A new clutch master and slave cylinder were fitted 6mths ago, so gear changes feel smooth and precise. A few very minor age related blemishes on the bodywork, to be expected for a car of this age, however it still presents very well as can be seen in the pictures. A chrome anti-roll bar is behind the seats giving a classic retro look. K&N air intake fitted for enhanced performance and great exhaust note.
Full stainless steel exhaust (cost £650), including a 4-2-1 stainless manifold all which is MOT compliant. Car is HPI clear and has no prior accident history record. The 1. 6ltr engine is a long-crank nose model which is more reliable than earlier models. This car has power-steering, air-conditioning and electric door windows. Large file of paperwork and receipts come with the car, thousands spent over the years and to support the items mentioned above.
Spare wheel, jack etc. are all present in the boot as well as the leather tonneau cover for when the roof is down. An Alpine stereo system is fitted in the centre console along with tweeter Alpine speakers in the doors. The electric aerial from factory is still in working order. Thatcham Immobiliser system fitted with 2 fobs and 2 keys included. Front bumper has a lower black lip which gives the car a lowered stance. Retro wood trim Momo steering wheel, matching gear knob and dashboard trim. V5 logbook in-hand and in my personal name shows just 4 former keepers. Overall, this is a really desirable example of a rare MK1 model hard to find in such clean and original condition. The gearbox feels smooth and the engine drives like a new car. The steering is responsive and precise, which is a notable feature of these cars.
