A true icon of its era, it still appeals to classic car enthusiasts thanks to its inimitable charm. A Remarkable Commercial Success The Simca Aronde was produced in 1. 5 million units between 1951 and 1963, making it one of the most successful cars in France in the 1950s. The Origin of the Name "Aronde" The name "Aronde" means "swallow" in old French. Simca chose it to evoke elegance, lightness and modernity, in the image of this graceful, swift bird. The swallow also featured on the brand's logo, reinforcing the model's identity as a symbol of freedom and renewal. Motor racing achievements 1952: Victory in the Rallye du Maroc with the crew Robert Amic and Mareschi. 1954: Further victory in the Rallye du Maroc by Robert La Caze and Grammatico. 1959: 2ᵉ place in the Rallye Monte-Carlo with André Thomas and Jean Delliere. 1962: Class victory in the Armstrong 500 in Australia.
The Aronde we are presenting here has benefited from a complete restoration (over €17, 000 in invoices) by the Clément workshop in Arquenay (53), a recognised specialist and expert in the make. It has since been maintained and monitored by another specialist in period vehicles. Many parts are new and it has been driven very little since. It is ready and reliable to cover any distance.

It has probably been completely repainted before purchase by the current owner and has a natural patina. A polish will restore its original shine but it is not necessary to repaint it completely. It is fitted with a roof rack (not visible in the photos) which will be included in the delivery.
