Iconic model among the most sought-after air‑cooled Porsche 911s, the 1989 Speedster was produced in only 2, 103 examples, of which 1, 942 were configured in the wide Turbo Look body, and only a tiny selection of 161 copies (including 10 RHD for the Australian market) in the narrow version. This narrow Speedster type 91132R is therefore one of these extremely rare specimens. The styling recalls the 356 Speedster with its low, shortened windscreen, its side glass and the double-bulge tonneau cover behind the front seats.
The car is matching numbers; engine and gearbox identification numbers recorded are in line with the original. Finished in metallic silver (code S7), black leather interior, this iconic example was imported by Sonauto France and configured for the French market (C05) featuring a non‑catalysed 3. 2-litre 930/ 20 engine mated to a 5‑speed G50 manual gearbox. It left the Porsche dealer in Strasbourg new, first registered in France in 1992, and had only 2 owners, the current one having acquired it in 1995.
In addition to standard equipment, this Speedster was ordered with a range of factory options detailed below. Meticulously maintained by the same owner and top Porsche specialists over the last 30 years, it has only 23, 500 km on the clock.
The car is in near‑as‑new condition, with no accident damage or corrosion, and free from any trace of rust. The seals, factory glass, and bodywork welds retain their original appearance, with the factory anticorrosion wax applied at the factory (a rare feature for a vehicle over 30 years old) and all production labels still affixed to the bodywork.
The factory 16‑inch forged Fuchs wheels are mounted with Pirelli P Zero tyres (second set).
The car is equipped with an alarm and a high‑quality Pioneer Hi‑Fi audio system including a Philips CD player, a 75W amplifier tucked under the passenger footwell, a pair of tweeters under the dashboard, and premium speakers installed in the original locations. The Porsche instrument cluster features the central tachometer flanked by a speedometer up to 260 km/ h, properly dated 6/ 89, an analog clock, and the auxiliary oil, fuel and temperature gauges.
The 3. 2‑litre air‑cooled flat‑six engine develops 231 HP and features Bosch fuel injection.
The narrow Speedster, with a different suspension geometry than its Turbo Look relatives, weighs 80 kg less on the scales while offering improved handling and a more engaging drive.
The car will be supplied with its toolkit, all original manuals including the Speedster Carrera supplement in French, up-to-date service booklet, an authentic Porsche Certificate of Authenticity (COA), two sets of keys, two spare keys, three wheel security keys, two alarm remotes, the original key card, and the antenna key.
