This Simca Aronde 1300 is just waiting for an enthusiast to write the next chapter. The beautiful story of this model: The Simca Aronde is much more than a popular saloon: it is the model that propelled Simca to the forefront of the French motoring scene.
Introduced in 1951, the Aronde was the first car designed entirely by Simca, breaking away from the Fiat licences used by the brand until then. In 1955, the Aronde adopted a new engine called "Flash": a 4-cylinder 1, 290 cm³ producing 48 bhp, coupled to a 4-speed manual gearbox. Reliable, robust and sober, this engine enabled the Aronde to reach speeds of 130 km/ h, a fine performance for a mid-range saloon in the 1950s. A symbol of French reconstruction and modernity, today it embodies an era when every body line was designed to seduce. Appearances in films and series Les Tontons Flingueurs (1963) A cult French film starring Lino Ventura and Bernard Blier. In several street scenes, Simca Aronde cars can be seen parked or on the road, perfectly integrated into the Parisian décor of the 50s and 60s. Who are we?
