As a rival to the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, Plymouth Road Runner and other Muscle cars, it is now considered to be an automotive classic and a benchmark in terms of performance. The '69 Dodge Charger was an update of the '68 model with the same wheelbase and a few alterations such as a central splitter in the grille and a new rear end with horizontal lights. The model had a very sustained sporting career with the DAYTONA 500 version, which won more than 18 NASCAR races, with aerodynamic modifications such as a plunging nose and a tail with a spoiler at the rear. The Plymouth Super Bird would join the Charger for the Chrysler Group in 1970 to compete with FORD, which was the brand to beat in NASCAR. Today, these are legendary cars that have an enormous place in an American car collection. Description This Dodge Charger comes from our workshops with the aim of offering a unique vehicle, customised to our taste and which is classy, durable and above all atypical!
Here is our CHARGER GT VINTAGE finish in a modern NARDO grey livery with CRAGGAR wheels, white lettered tyres, a new black interior and all the original chrome. The car has undergone a meticulous restoration, starting with a model imported from the USA in 2014 and which kept the workshop busy for a personalised project with no time pressure. MECHANICAL The engine is a 440 ci, 7L2 V8 rebuilt as new and which develops almost 400 HP. A complete photo report of the restoration is available to the future buyer. The automatic gearbox has also been overhauled down to the smallest detail to ensure the harmonious reliability of the powertrain. The engine is still being run in. The mechanical parts specific to this engine are imported exclusively from the US and the cost is accordingly high.
SUSPENSION The front axle has been completely rebuilt, with all suspensions changed and the front axles completely aligned and balanced. The rear axle was rebuilt and run in for 600 km. BODYWORK The car was completely dismantled, sanded bare, the floors were rebuilt, the rear section had the side members changed, the boot floors were rebuilt, the doors were realigned, the front and rear wings were flat, the doors were fitted in the clear. Then the doors were removed for a complete paint job after priming. We chose a Nardo grey to make the car more imposing, more racy and, above all, much more dashing at first glance; the choice of colours at the time is no longer up to date, apart from light grey and black, so we wanted to make it unique.
INTERIOR The upholstery is new, as are the carpets and door panels. The dashboard has been completely dismantled to check the connections, clean it and align it perfectly with the centre console, which has been thoroughly cleaned and refurbished. The door panels are new. The vehicle is registered in France as a classic CT OK Big file of follow-up and restoration Our opinion Buying a Charger, importing it from the US, is a real headache with the added risk of receiving a vehicle in poor condition, which does not correspond at all to the description you were given....
