Description
For sale: Citroën Dyane 6 from October 1974 (model year 1975).
Standard clutch model with drum brakes at the front and rear. 602 cc engine and 35 SAE hp.
Very good original condition, well-preserved and running, for this Dyane in beige vanneau colour (AC 083), brown faux leather interior.
This vehicle has never been restored but has been properly and regularly maintained and has just undergone a substantial reliability refresh so it can run in good conditions.
Thus, in addition to the oil change and filters, the carburettor was replaced with a new exchange unit, the gearbox mount bushings and the alternator belt were changed, and the lighting was fully checked. The most exposed part of the exhaust (underbody section and outlet pipe) is also new. The windscreen wipers have just been replaced.
Previously, the driver's seat cushion had been completely rebuilt by a professional and the hood is new.
All of these works are supported by invoices.
Additionally, a coat of paint was applied a few years ago in the original colour. The overall finish is therefore very good.
Because the car has not been restored, the underbody is obviously not corrosion-free (a few perforations in the front floorpan with no impact on the positive CT/ MOT result) but it has never been blackened to mask anything. The most vulnerable areas have been treated with transparent anti-rust. The sills and body panels are clean and sound.
This model is notable as it is the first to be fitted with the new grey plastic grille (with chrome trim and chevrons). There is also the brown cushioned single-spoke steering wheel which was used only on the 74 and 75 models.
Particularly delicate, this wheel has here been fitted with a protective sleeve and remains original, albeit with some flaws due to sun exposure...
For the rest, the upholstery is very well preserved; the passenger seat, which had a tear, has been backed with a leather piece from underneath to stop its spread. The driver's seat and the rear bench are like new. Note that while the ventilated tobacco-coloured Tep lining was standard equipment, the separate front seats are considered optional...
On the storage shelf you can still find the original folder with all of the vehicle's manuals.
I even have the original period sales brochure as well as the one dealing with billing times for the various operations... The era’s rear shelf is also still in place.
Well shod, the car is therefore ready to depart, at its own pace, on roads here, there and elsewhere, bearing in mind that any journey will take a little longer than with a modern vehicle...
As far as its history goes, it is fairly straightforward since three owners have been identified, including me. Thus, even if there is no written record of its early days, the mileage of 81, 000 km is documented in Histovec, which I have at my disposal.
It would seem that after starting life in Creuse, the first owner drove it a few years in Spain. It then returned to Creuse in 1979 (I have one of the black plates from that era in department 23) until it was sold to a collector in 2019. I subsequently became the purchaser.
In summary, this car has been well preserved and good trips are still very much feasible in it. I drive it only occasionally but quite regularly. The mileage is therefore slightly increasing.
It is registered as a collection vehicle with a current MOT that will be renewed prior to sale to ensure it has less than 6 months remaining and to be able to register the vehicle in the new owner’s name. It will then be valid for 5 years with no driving restrictions.
I have tried to be as complete and transparent as possible in my description and the photos provided, but I remain available for any further information and to show you the car.
Initial contact by email with your details so I can get back to you quickly.
Thank you for your interest.
