Description
During the 1950s, after a very difficult period for Spain (civil war), General Franco wished to motorise the whole country so that reconstruction would be as quick as possible. This is how the local brand, Seat, developed strongly, especially with the 600 model.
The Seat 600 is, as you can see, a faithful copy of the Fiat 600. It is under Fiat licence, but produced by Seat, quite simply. It was presented in 1957 at the Barcelona Motor Show and production stopped in 1973, after more than 783, 000 units produced.
In terms of propulsion, there is an initial 4-cylinder engine of 633cc until 1963 and then of 767 cc. From 1969 it replaces its suicide doors with the door system we know today.
NYC’s/ OXOTO puts up for sale here a very beautiful example of the Seat 600, beige in colour, two-tone interior (blue, brown, beige and white lines) giving a chic, period look especially.
Delivered new in June 1969 (it is therefore an improved and more powerful version), it currently totals a little under 13, 000 km on the odometer (5-digit analog odometer). However, we can, via the CarPass database, confirm that it has covered very little in the last 10 years. We do not have the history of this Seat, but we do have its life since 2015 (it was Dutch and became Belgian in April 2017). We also have a copy of the previous technical inspection reports (Dutch and Belgian).
The interior presents very well, no defects, whether the seats, the dashboard, the headlining, the door interiors, the steering wheel, the mats, everything looks very good.
The bodywork shows well but is not perfect. The paint is in its patina with its period finish but the essential is there: no corrosion! It should be noted that the former Belgian owner is a well-known automotive expert in the world of classic cars, he ensured to buy a beautiful example with no costs to be expected despite the car being over 60 years old!
The chrome is in good condition as well, whether the bumpers, the headlamp and window surrounds.
Mechanically, we can confirm that it runs well and starts very easily. We only have one recent invoice (battery and dynamo).
We also have its original spare wheel which is in average condition.
Note that this Seat 600 was exhibited at the Interclassic Brussels show in 2025, so clearly, it is a vehicle that presents very well.
A ramp is available in our establishments to show you the underside of the vehicle.
