Description
Swallow Doretti (1954) is a boutique British marque, with only 276 examples produced. Predominantly exported to the USA, some were campaigned on the circuits of the New World. This one has been fully and professionally restored from the chassis, preserving all its period specifications and modifications: aluminium body, XK120 brakes, aluminium radiator, Standard Triumph racing engine developing around 160 hp... The engine has also been rebuilt, as have the gearbox and rear axle. This Swallow Doretti, with a typically 50s racing configuration, would have raced in its day, as evidenced by its condition on arrival in France. After a complete restoration, it regains its former lustre… while preserving its original patina (new paint aged). A racing car, surprisingly easy to drive, road-registered… an opportunity not to miss. It was the subject of an eight-page article in the unmissable French classic-car magazine: “Retroviseur”.
