1948 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible
Unique Cadillac Convertible
Restored
Dark green metallic / tan leather upholstery
Flathead V8, Hydra-Matic
Under the direction of designer Frank Hershey, the design of the 1948 Cadillac was inspired by the Lockheed P-38 Lightning, a twin-tailed fighter aircraft. As a result, the ’48 Cadillac became the trendsetter for tail wings on cars. All American car manufacturers followed Cadillac in this regard, and even European car brands joined the tail wing trend! Furthermore, it is a very elegant and timeless design; a true classic!
This beautiful 1948 Cadillac Convertible was delivered new in New York and has been in Europe since the 1980s. It is in excellent, restored condition with fine paint, chrome, and trim. The “Tan” leather interior is neat and is a tasteful combination with the dark green exterior. Equipped with the original ‘numbers matching’ Flathead V-8 and Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. This Cadillac runs so beautifully, starts easily, and drives excellently. Options include: Hydra-Matic transmission, special steering wheel, power windows, top and seat, radio, sombrero wheel covers, backup light, and fog lights. The ‘Hydro-Electric’ system functions perfectly (central oil pump operating the windows, seats, and convertible top). The convertible top is made of light brown fabric with a glass rear window; the tonneau cover is made of the same material. The rims are powder-coated and fitted with new radial “Wide White Wall” tires. A beautiful historic piece that clearly demonstrates Cadillac’s post-war leadership, truly “The Standard of the World”. Dutch registration.
