Description
For sale: ** 1966 Volkswagen Beetle 1300**.
The car was acquired in South Africa in 2017, where it served as a reliable daily driver before being imported to France in 2021. It is now properly registered with a French registration document and has been used since for leisure outings. It is also registered as a classic/ collectable vehicle.
Mechanically, the vehicle has benefited from recent work carried out in 2024, including replacement of the flywheel (correct 130‑tooth model, 200 mm), installation of a new clutch kit as well as a new 12 V starter. The corresponding invoices are available.
A French Technical Inspection (Contrôle Technique) was carried out in August 2024 and remains valid until August 2029. The vehicle received a favourable result, with only a few minor observations, including a slight play in the steering, a minor imbalance in the front suspension, a light seepage at one rear brake cylinder, an ageing wiring loom, as well as light superficial corrosion on the chassis — all elements consistent with the vehicle’s age.
An intermittent electrical fault is currently present, affecting starting and lighting. This is thought to be related to the wiring loom or earth/ grounds rather than a major mechanical issue.
The odometer shows approximately 23, 000 km; however, as with many vintage cars equipped with a 5‑digit odometer, total mileage cannot be guaranteed.
