Description
For sale: ** Volkswagen Beetle 1300 from 1966**.
The car was acquired in South Africa in 2017, where it served as a reliable daily driver before being imported to France in 2021. It is now properly registered with a French registration document and has been used since for leisure outings. It is also registered as a classic vehicle.
Mechanically, the vehicle has benefited from recent work carried out in 2024, including the replacement of the flywheel (correct 130-tooth, 200 mm), the installation of a new clutch kit, and a new 12 V starter. The corresponding invoices are available.
A French Technical Control (Contrôle Technique) was carried out in August 2024 and remains valid until August 2029. The vehicle achieved a favourable result, with only a few minor advisories, notably some play in the steering, a slight imbalance of the front suspension, a light seepage at a rear brake cylinder, an ageing wiring loom, and a mild superficial corrosion of the chassis — all elements in keeping with the vehicle’s age.
An intermittent electrical fault is currently present, affecting starting and lighting. This is thought to be related to the wiring loom or earth/ grounds rather than a major mechanical issue.
The odometer shows around 23, 000 km; however, as with many vintage vehicles fitted with a 5-digit odometer, total mileage cannot be guaranteed.
