This 1956 Simca Facel Coupé de Ville is undeniably part of that era. Designed by Jean Daninos, founder of Facel, this 2-seater coupé embodies the French elegance of the 1950s, with a refined line and a rare presence on the road as well as in collections.
Based on the Aronde 1300, it is distinguished by its exclusive style and its assertive character. This example has benefited from a thorough restoration, entrusted to professionals, both mechanically and in the bodywork. The paint is fresh, the chromes have been completely redone, and the entire mechanical package has been carefully brought up to date: exhaust, brakes, tires, radiator, hoses, water pump, dynamo, fuel pump, carburettor…
Everything has been designed for reliable and serene use.
The cabin, bright and welcoming, has been partially restored with respect for authenticity: new headlining, front carpets replaced, door panels and side panels redone, seats reupholstered. The original leathers as well as the boot carpets have been deliberately preserved, bringing that elegant patina and this unique atmosphere that only an old car can offer.
Powered by the Flash Special engine, perfectly tuned, this Coupé de Ville starts at the turn of the key, even after long immobilisation or on cold days. It runs regularly and proves surprisingly pleasant to drive, reliable and capable of covering kilometres without difficulty.
