Chassis 2469965 was originally delivered on 13 March 1980 by the Wim Vleugels garage in Maastricht, then an official Alfa Romeo dealer. This Spider Veloce delivered new to the Netherlands represents the ultimate second-series Spider, equipped with its original 2000 cm³ engine, the most powerful in the range, as well as a limited-slip differential.
It is presented in the rare and very striking Bianco Pininfarina (008), a white that is warmer and more refined than the very common Biancospino (013). This Spider is completed by a black faux-leather interior, grey carpets and a matching black soft top. The overall colour combination is elegant and timeless, perfectly suited to the Spider's lines.
Its equipment is enriched by a full set of Campagnolo "Millerighe" 14-inch alloy wheels original, including the spare wheel. It was a particularly sought-after option at the time. The car also benefits from one of the Spider's most iconic and coveted features: its distinctive blade-like headlamps.
The Spider remained in the Netherlands from 1980 to 2016, before being sold to a German collector by the renowned Wim Prins of Nunspeet. At this 2016 sale the odometer showed 84, 500 km; it now reads 86, 200 km. In the years since acquisition, the Spider has undergone a full overhaul and recommissioning to particularly high standards. The history file includes invoices totalling nearly €20, 000, mainly devoted to mechanical work and the installation of the famous Alfaholics Fast Road handling kit. Since this restoration, the Spider has travelled just over 2, 000 km and presents itself as a remarkable driver.
Mechanically, it lives up to its appearance.
On the road, the Spider delivers exactly the sensations its looks promise. The engine starts instantly, the gearbox shifts smoothly and the overall experience is the engaging driving feel that is the charm of an Alfa Romeo from this era. After our acquisition in May 2026, the car was entrusted to our trusted Alfa Romeo specialist. A slight low-speed hunting was identified as stemming from the carburettor tuning and has since been corrected. The engine now runs exactly as it should.
The bodywork condition is a key point on these models, and this example is among the most original and best-preserved we've had the pleasure to see. The underbody is remarkably authentic, notably thanks to a wax protective treatment on various suspension components and other items typically prone to superficial corrosion. The underbody photos speak for themselves.
The last service date August 2024 at 85, 360 km, i. e., only 840 km ago. The Vredestein Classic tyres are near‑as‑new.
Exposed with two sets of keys, a dedicated history file, the user manual, the spare wheel, tonneau cover and the original jack, this Spider is certainly among the best examples currently available on the market. It is currently registered with German export documents, but we can deliver with Dutch registration and a new APK (inspections) included in the asking price.
