History: We are offering for sale this superb 1970 Porsche 911 2. 2 E, an example that has benefited from an outstanding restoration.
Its more recent history begins in 2016, when its French owner purchased the car and carried out a complete restoration of the body (total strip-down), as well as rebuilding all the running gear.
An impressive file of more than 1, 500 photos details the entire restoration in depth.
Overall condition:
Excellent overall condition.
The bodywork shows no defects, just like the completely rebuilt body shell. The car has been resprayed in its original Light Ivory white colour, a very tasteful shade for a Classic 911. The paintwork presents beautifully.
Since the end of the restoration in 2018, the car has covered around 10, 000 km.
For the sake of perfection, a few items have recently been addressed to bring the car even closer to a new-condition standard. Although all 4 tyres are in very good condition, they can also be replaced with brand-new ones.
Interior: The black leatherette interior is in excellent condition and matches perfectly with the Light Ivory exterior colour.
To keep the car’s soul, the original upholstery has not been redone. It offers the charm of authenticity, and the few minor age-related imperfections of the interior do not detract from the car’s overall harmony.
Mechanical: Mechanically, this 911 is equally faultless and runs perfectly. The engine was completely rebuilt in 2010.
The gearbox is in excellent condition; gears engage smoothly, with no crunching. It was rebuilt in 2017.
Starting is *****, with no smoke. Rev-ups are crisp and regular, and the characteristic 2. 2 E torque is well present even at low revs. The drive is pure pleasure—confirming the very healthy mechanical condition of this 911.
