If Steve McQueen, ‘The King of Cool,’ chose to open his racing film ‘Le Mans’ behind the wheel of his slate gray Porsche 2. 2 S, driving through the French countryside to the circuit, there was a reason.
Delivered new to Porsche distributor Raffay in Hamburg on October 21, 1970, this Porsche 911 2. 2 S has enjoyed a well-documented history across several distinguished German cities, including Stuttgart, Ludwigsburg, and Traunstein, before landing in Sweden.
Thanks to a meticulous restoration performed a decade ago, the car is in perfect condition in every respect. The bodywork wears its rare, factory-correct ‘Grünmetallic’ (code 8383).
Inside, the cabin has been fully restored with seats upholstered in black leatherette and the rare Pepita cloth. Mechanically, every component was carefully examined, with the 2, 195cc air-cooled flat-six engine and dog-leg 5-speed gearbox rebuilt to offer reliability. The Fuchs wheels, designed in collaboration with Otto Fuchs KG, remain a defining feature, contributing to the car’s lightweight handling dynamics. Further enhancing its period-correct authenticity, the car retains its original jack, tool kit, and is Porsche Classic certified.
