GRAHAM Blue Streak Eight 1933 model 64
A true milestone in automotive history, launched in 1932 the Graham Blue Streak Eight was designed by visionary Amos NORTHUP.
It was truly one of the most influential cars of its era.
Its fluid waterfall-shaped grille, its aerodynamic bodywork for the time and its revolutionary chassis forever transformed automobile design.
With its sloped wings, its partially faired wheels, its aggressive silhouette, the Blue Streak became the benchmark model for virtually all major American manufacturers from 1934 onwards.
It was subsequently copied, which earned it its famous advertising slogan: "the most imitated car on the road".
Its legend was forged in 1933 when Erwin BAKER (Cannonball) crossed the United States from East to West at the wheel of a Blue Streak Eight in 53. 5 hours, a stunning record that stood for nearly forty years and later inspired the film "The Cannonball Run".
This 8-cylinder Blue Streak is in very good original condition, very complete; it spent much of its life in a major museum, which explains its excellent preservation, it shows very little signs of wear.
This car is in very good original condition.
It has been partially restored for safety reasons, all four tyres are new, the braking system has been thoroughly checked, new brakes at the front, in very good condition at the rear, all new hoses, new master cylinder, wheel cylinders refurbished.
The upholstery is in fine original condition and well preserved.
The engine has been recommissioned properly, period-correct new carburettor, new spark plugs, engine oil change, gearbox, differential, new 6-volt battery, new hoses.
The exhaust system remains to be refurbished for trouble-free driving.
The FFVE documentation is complete to establish a collector's registration document.
The type 64 engine was designed to deliver very generous low-end torque, it allowed driving in third gear from 20 km/ h without any jerking, which was remarkable in 1933.
The car has 41, 500 original kilometres.
