The Atelier des 1000 is pleased to offer for sale this 1973 Citroën Méhari, presented in its original shade, Orange Kirghiz.
Launched in 1968, the Méhari quickly became a symbol of freedom and simplicity. Designed as a lightweight vehicle that’s practical and tough, it appeals just as much for its distinctive look as for its no-nonsense, utility spirit. Produced until 1987, it served both private owners and professionals alike—on getaways as well as in everyday work.
The example we’re offering is a 1973 model with 39, 000km, configured as a four-seater—particularly well suited to family use or leisure.
The vehicle has undergone a complete restoration, with the chassis fully stripped and refurbished. A detailed photo file accompanies the car and attests to all the work carried out.
Mechanically, the engine starts easily, with no unusual noises or smoke. The road manners are sound and consistent with the model’s intended use.
The original metal fuel tank has been replaced with a plastic tank—a solution commonly adopted for this model.
The gearbox selects its gears correctly.
The clutch operates normally and shows no signs of weakness.
The running gear is in good condition. The braking system is efficient.
The bodywork is in excellent condition. The Orange Kirghiz paintwork has a superb shine. It’s fitted with a removable grille for easier maintenance.
Inside, in the four-seater configuration, it presents very well. The seats, dashboard and controls are in good condition.
