Bodywork / Exterior: The model shown here is a January 1965 injection 404 cabriolet in its period colour “Rouge Capanelle 1033”. The bodywork has received a complete repaint a few years ago. The whole car is in excellent visual condition, showing an even shade and very good gloss. After professional orbital polishing carried out by our workshop, we noted a few micro-bubbles on the right rear wing, a few small dings on the right front wing and a few small scattered scratches on the left rear wing. The original bumpers are perfectly straight and aligned, showing only a few typical micro-scratches as well as a few small, hardly visible marks at the front. This example of long-range CIBIE lights is perfectly functional. The “black” mohair hood and its rear window are in very good condition despite slight fading of the mohair and dulling of the mica. Fitting the hood remains straightforward and its sealing is in line with period standards. This example is fitted with a hood cover in black imitation leather. This is in very good condition and fits easily. The 4 steel wheels are fitted with their stainless trims, as per original specification. The set is in very good condition with no sign of impact or deformation. The 4 tyres will be replaced with new ones in advance of delivery.
This example has retained its original spare wheel, its spare wheel cover in black imitation leather and its jack. Among the interesting “Bodywork / Exterior” features and options this example is equipped with, we noted: The hood cover in black imitation leather as well as CIBIE long-range lights.
Cabin: The interior has retained its strict period specification. The interior has also been restored to match the original, a few years ago. The whole still appears in excellent visual condition today. The upholstery in black “3000” imitation leather with matching piping is in very good condition, with no signs of wear, tears or fading. The door cards matching the upholstery are also in very good condition, despite the presence of two small cracks at the top of the driver’s door (4 cm). The body-colour dashboard and its imitation-leather dash top are free from any notable defects. The complete JAEGER instrument cluster is perfectly functional. This example is fitted with a perfectly functional SOFICA heating system (period option). The original bakelite steering wheel is in excellent condition, with no cracks or breakages.
