Description
4x4 Bertone FreeClimber 2, undergoing preparation, 1. 6 petrol with 100bhp, it's a BMW engine that powered the E30. It's in good condition, the bodywork shows a few visible defects visible in the gallery. Excellent convertible vehicle for summer, beach trips, towing your boat (it's equipped with a tow bar). Genuine mileage, the MOT certificates confirm this.
The MOT will of course be in order for the sale.
Although this vehicle is perfectly functional, some work is required:
Timing belt, exhaust, rear axle bushes.
Little history but French vehicle.
The Bertone Freeclimber is a luxurious off-roader that was produced from 1989 to 1995. It's based on the Daihatsu Rocky which was modified by Bertone in terms of bodywork and interior. This becomes a luxury 4×4 with more comprehensive equipment. What also makes the Bertone Freeclimber charming is its "powered by BMW" badge. Because this 4×4 is powered by a BMW 1. 6-litre petrol engine.
From 1993 to 1995, the Freeclimber was given a makeover in terms of styling. Most notably the widened wings which give it a more imposing look. It also becomes available as a cabriolet version, which is the case here. With the Freeclimber 2 Bertone clearly shows that its luxury 4×4 is just as at home in the city as in the mud.
The Bertone Freeclimber opened, along with the Range Rover and Rayton Fissore, the road to luxury 4×4s not necessarily destined to get their wheels dirty off-road. With its stunning styling and BMW engines it's full of charm. Enough to tempt you – on the scale of 4×4 youngtimers to collect, I'd give it a well-deserved 10!
