Selling Spitfire or Herald engine, it's a MK2 1147 - FC 589XX HE
It runs, I drive with it, no abnormal noise but it's got quite a few miles on the clock. I'm selling it because I've got a MK4 and I want to fit a 1300 engine back in my Spitfire.
I'm leaving the inlet and exhaust manifolds, the timing chain, sprockets, pulley and distributor housing. I'm keeping the carbs, dynamo, starter motor, distributor, clutch, fuel pump, water pump, oil pump…
The con rods and crankshaft are sound, no rod knock; it would be best to check the clearances while the engine is apart.
The cylinders and pistons are worn, you'll need to plan for a rebore and new pistons.
The engine is standard bore 69. 3. I'm selling it for 300 euros with its con rods and crankshaft.
The cylinder head I'm selling for 200 euros with its valves and springs.
