We are pleased to offer for sale this beautiful Citroën CX 2400 GTI first series.
This iconic model from the 70s/ 80s, descendant of the DS, offered exceptional ride comfort. Those who travelled aboard still remember it.
The CX version with electronic fuel injection appeared in May 1977, with its 2400 cc engine developing 128 horsepower.
The model we are presenting has a fine history. It was born in March 1978 and its last owner had it since 1982 before passing it on to us. It currently totals 109, 000 km.
This gentleman wanted the best for his pride and joy by equipping it with the accessories available at the time:
Morette headlights (4 round lights), long-range spotlights in the grille, fog lights, louvre on the rear window, black wing mirrors (originally chromed), black window pillar trim from the 1980 model year (originally chromed), the "Darth Vader" air intake on the bonnet, also in black to provide a lovely contrast with the Regatta blue bodywork.
He had given his beauty a fresh paint job probably some thirty years ago.
The bodywork today still offers a fine lustre and attractive presentation despite its patina and a few minor cosmetic imperfections.
Upon acquisition, we carried out the necessary mechanical work to ensure reliability and allow this CX to cover any distance as it did in its youth:
Sandblasting and resealing of the fuel tank, replacement of the fuel pump, alternator, injectors, radiator, suspension spheres and various other components.
The exhaust system was also replaced with a new one entirely in stainless steel, which gives it absolutely perfect acoustics.
Driving this magnificent motor is a truly memorable experience. Its unique handling feel, its level of ride comfort and filtration that modern cars no longer achieve today, its impressive road holding instantly captivates you. Not to mention the goodwill it generates with people who see it pass by.
Today this CX GTI is looking for its new family to continue its story.
At the buyer's request, it can be delivered in its current patina or with a complete professional respray for an additional €10, 000.
