Description
Renault 5 GTL inherited from my parents' estate, which they purchased new in August 1982.
It has only ever been driven by my father and myself, and no one has ever sat in the rear seats, which have been protected from the outset, like the front ones, with specially fitted seat covers.
It hasn't been driven for over 10 years, but was kept safe in a garage until the last two years when lack of space forced me to park it outside, in the garden, under a tarpaulin at the spot where the photographs were taken.
It has of course retained its original registration number with 3 digits and two letters followed by the Côte-d'Or department code.
The last MOT was carried out on 9 July 2013, noting a few wear-related defects to correct but with no need for a retest.
Its chassis was protected from the outset against corrosion by a "DINITROL" treatment and the two contractual inspection visits were completed.
Amongst the visible defects: the exhaust line which apparently needs to be "refixed" at both ends and a slight dent in the bodywork visible on the right front wing just above the bumper (sustained in a car park).
Visible near Dijon in Côte-d'Or.
