Description
I am selling my Land Rover Series III 109. The Land Rover 109 is a 4x4 off-road vehicle designed to meet the needs of professionals, government agencies and long-distance travellers. It retains the principles that built Land Rover's worldwide reputation: a separate chassis, an aluminium body and remarkable off-road capability. It was first registered on 11/ 01/ 1982. This long-wheelbase model is a rare, preserved example with genuine authenticity and immaculately maintained mechanicals. I am the second owner, having acquired it in 2000 after several years hibernating at the back of a barn. It has been sympathetically restored to keep it in its original condition, with no modifications that would compromise its authenticity, and it is classed as a collector's vehicle. It wears its period Blue paintwork and a beige Hard Top in good condition, paired with a black interior. As a proper old warhorse, its bodywork shows a few dings and scratches but is in good overall condition, and the chassis shows no sign of corrosion. Under the bonnet, the 2. 25L 4-cylinder diesel engine runs very smoothly, starting easily with no abnormal noises or smoke. The injection pump was overhauled and calibrated in 2017 and the glow plugs have been replaced. The gearbox, transfer box and transmission show no faults. The vehicle is fitted with freewheeling front hubs, which reduce strain on the driveline when running in 2WD. The instruments work and all the lighting is functional. Below are the works carried out in September for the sale: brake refurbishment (master cylinder, brake hoses, wheel cylinders, brake fluid replacement and adjustments); four new mixed road and off-road tyres fitted; new battery; headlamp unit replaced. The October 2026 MOT is a pass and valid for 5 years, as the vehicle is on a collector's registration document. Highlights: 3 complete wheels; Land Rover Series 3 workshop manual in French, 400 pages.
