Description
Superb Rover Mini 1300 MPI British Open – 1995
I am offering for sale this very pretty Rover Mini 1300 SPI, first registered in 1995, in a particularly elegant and charming specification.
This Mini is an original British Open special edition, fitted with the 1300 engine with single-point injection.
It is now in perfect running order and is just as pleasant to drive day to day as it is to look at.
A well-maintained and looked-after Mini:
The car has been cared for over several years by a specialist Mini professional in Charente, Lenny's Classic Garage.
Numerous repairs and maintenance jobs have already been carried out, with plenty of recent invoices available.
The 1300 engine runs perfectly:
starts well when hot or cold;
runs smoothly;
no smoke;
no abnormal consumption of oil or coolant.
A comfortable and sound chassis:
In January 2025 the Mini received new suspension cones along with a Hi-Lo kit, restoring a comfortable ride while retaining the driving enjoyment characteristic of the Mini.
The tyres, discs and pads are in good condition.
It is also fitted with an exhaust system with a centre outlet, giving a particularly pleasant and sporty sound.
Bodywork and presentation:
The bodywork is in good overall condition. A full, good-quality repaint was carried out a few years ago.
As on many Minis of this age, some signs of wear are nonetheless visible, particularly in the cabin and on some bodywork elements. No perforating corrosion to report.
The car has numerous extras and accessories that give it a look that is both smart and sporty:
- bonnet straps;
- additional driving lights;
- self-adhesive gold stripes;
- alloy wheels;
- chrome bullet door mirrors;
- wooden steering wheel;
- wooden dashboard trim;
- sunroof;
- centre exhaust system;
The sunroof works perfectly. The canvas has shrunk slightly, a well-known complaint on British Open models, but remains fully watertight. A hose-down test with a pressure washer was carried out to confirm this.
A Mini ready for the road:
This Mini is regularly used by its current owner, a retiree, who looks after it lovingly and uses it every day.
She now wishes to part with it in order to move on to a more modern car, notably to benefit from air conditioning and power steering.
The car is perfectly capable of making the journey across France and can be driven to its new owner under its own power without any problem.
BIG PLUS:
- the Mini is fitted with an original immobiliser which prevents the engine from starting,
- the Mini has a logbook that was transferred to classic status in 2025 (MOT every 5 years!),
Viewing in Charente:
The Mini can be viewed by appointment, on a ramp at Lenny's Classic Garage workshop in Charente, near Angoulême.
It will be handed over with a recent oil change and an MOT with less than 6 months remaining.
The car, its history and the numerous invoices can be presented to you upon request.
A charming, stylish and enjoyable Mini, ready to carry on its life in the hands of an enthusiast.
