Description
The elegance of Italian Grand Touring
TD Classic Cars is offering this Ferrari 400i from July 1984, presented in an elegant Grigio Metallizzato livery combined with a Connolly Crema leather interior.
Designed by Pininfarina, the 400i embodies a refined vision of the grand tourer according to Maranello: a restrained, timeless silhouette, four seats and the nobility of a V12 engine. Produced in some 1, 305 examples between 1979 and 1985, it remains a particularly rare Ferrari.
A legendary V12, paired with a rare manual gearbox
Beneath its long bonnet sits a 4. 8-litre naturally aspirated V12 producing 315 bhp, from the prestigious lineage of Ferrari engines initiated by engineer Gioachino Colombo.
Our example stands out above all for its five-speed manual gearbox: only around 422 Ferrari 400i are believed to have been fitted with one, compared with 883 automatic versions. This setup lets you fully enjoy the character and sound of the V12 while keeping the comfort of a great long-distance tourer.
A refined colour combination
The Grigio Metallizzato accentuates the taut lines of Pininfarina's design. Inside, Connolly Crema leather covers all four seats and contrasts with the black dashboard and long centre console. An elegant combination, faithful to the spirit of the great Italian GTs of the 1980s.
A European history and documented provenance
First registered on 1 July 1984, this Ferrari had a European history passing through Italy and then Switzerland, before arriving in Alsace in 2007. It was then acquired by a Ferrari specialist garage, whose manager, also a collector, added it to his personal collection.
In 2011 it was sold to one of his customers, its current owner, and was French-registered on that occasion. It comes with its stamped service book, several invoices and its HistoVec report.
Mileage records show steady progression, from 65, 893 km in 2011 to 71, 692 km in April 2026. An inspection carried out in June 2025 highlights its very good overall condition, particularly the bodywork, paintwork and interior, and sets an insurance valuation of €95, 000 (separate from a sale value).
