The Appeal

With the threat of closure looming, in 2009 Saab chose to celebrate its groundbreaking past. The 9-3 Turbo X marked the 30th anniversary of the Trollhattan Trolls bringing forced turbocharging to the masses. Each car was painted in classic Jet Black with a matching interior and equipped with special 18in alloys and titanium grille exterior detailing. Just 2,000 were made available worldwide, of which 500 were allocated to the UK. It is perhaps a mark of Saab’s woes that fewer than 250 of those found buyers.

Today the Turbo X is the modern Saab saloon you want, equipped as it is with the grunty 2.8L 280bhp turbocharged V6 plus the surefooted Haldex AWD system. The first keeper of this 2009 Turbo X chose to mate all that to the 6spd manual gearbox.

The current enthusiast keeper bought the car in 2024. The history file shows it was last serviced in November 2025, since then it has covered a few miles. In good, usable condition and with MOT to September 2026, this quick, quirky and capable saloon us ready to enjoy.
