Supplied new by Franco Boringa Mercedes Benz of Rome on 11th June 1962 to Dario Lenzini, from the Lenzinio family of Lazio Football Club fame. Remarkably the original purchase invoice is still on file. It was owned by the Lenzini family for some 19 years and the Roma plates from this period are still with the vehicle. The next owner, a Mr De Novellis was an Italian Embassy official owned the car for an incredible 35 years during which time it accompanied him on a move to the UK.
The last owner purchased it just a few years ago, in which time he has incurred a serious amount of expenditure to bring the car up to the condition it is in today. The interior has been completely refurbished and the results are just stunning. This has including retrimming the seats in black leather in the correct pattern with factory accurate perforations and seams, fitting a new set of German-loop carpets and the restoration of the wood veneers to an incredibly high standard. There has been various work to the engine, transmission, suspension, steering and brakes all detailed on file. During this process the owner was in contact with previous owner Mr De Novellis who was recently reunited with his beloved Coupe.
Comes complete with a most comprehensive history file which includes original handbooks and invoices dating back to the aforementioned original purchase invoice.
