After much consideration I have decided the time has come to sell my Volvo 265 GLE.(And my super rare 1975 Volvo 66 also advertised on here!)
This is a very rare car - believed to be one of only two currently on the road in the UK.
In totally original condition, it has been well maintained and improved over the years, but never restored. Current mileage 69800. MOT and TAX exempt from 2019, with current MOT to 30/ 3/ 19. There have been 4 owners, including me.
This car is in truely excellent condition in everyway - although I would not describe it as "Concours". There are a very few marks and blemishes on the paintwork although there is absolutely nothing significantly wrong and no major rot or rust. Mechanically the PRV 2. 7L V6 engine has been maintained and serviced meticulously as has the 3-speed Automatic gearbox. All mechanical systems are in full working order and have been kept in top condition with annual servicing and repairs as required.
The leather interior has been refurbished and re-coloured in the original shade of beige and is in superb condition with no rips or tears. The original carpets have faded a little, but are in fantastic condition without any damage. The original rubber floor mats are with the car.
All electrical systems - including the original Air Conditioning - are in full working order.
In short, this is a fully working rare Volvo in really immaculate condition that requires no work at all to simply use and enjoy.
There is recent service history - from me and the previous owner - but most earlier history has sadly been lost. The original handbook and service book are present as are the original dealer fitted number plates and key fob. The car will also come with a substantial collection of original brochures and promotional literature.
Well known around the Classic scene as "BURT" I was very proud that this car was selected to be displayed on the Volvo Owners Club stand at the NEC in 2017 for the 90th anniversary of Volvo cars. It has also been featured on several websites and in the Daily Telegraph Classic Motoring section. I have throughly enjoyed my 4 years owning this great car - but have decided that it is time for a change and I want to return to my Classic Car "roots" with something British from the 1950's or 60's. So, the time has come for someone else to take ownership of BURT and, I hope, enjoy this wonderful machine as much as I have. I have lots more photo's, (or just Google "Volvo 265 images" - there are loads of this car!!), so please just ask if you would like more pictures - or any other information.
Car is in Eastbourne, East Sussex.
