Derek Bell and Andy Rouse famously put the Works Jaguar XJ12 5. 3 Coupe Broadspeed car on the map during the 1977 ETCC championship and although the season was bereft of reliability due to mechanical gremlins and the subsequent decision by Leyland Cars to pull out of the 1978 season the “XJC Broadspeed” is synonymous with Jaguar Racing and especially the touring car championships.
We at Connoisseur Classics were commissioned to build a replica of the Derek Bell/ Andy Rouse car to mark the 40th anniversary of that momentous season but unfortunately it never came to fruition. We are now in a position to offer that same build to another advocate of the XJC Broadspeed and its racing heritage.
The cost of an exact replica would easily run into the six figure bracket and way beyond most enthusiasts budget, however the car we were commissioned to build had all the looks of the original Derek Bell car with various upgrades including the V12 engine, suspension and brakes.
This would be a fantastic opportunity to build and own a piece of Jaguar nostalga.
