This is a nice classic off roader. It starts first time every time. It runs very smoothly and has a positive gearchange. I have owned it since may.
The engine is dated 1997, it is electric start. I had this checked at the local Yamaha dealer. The mechanic said it was in all round very good condition. The engine runs very quietly.
It has had the carb stripped ultrasonic cleaned and reassembled. It had a full service, filters and a speark plug. The fuel taps have been rebuilt and the fuel tank cleaned. All the electrics work well and also the clocks.
It is comfortable and sits very well on the road. The brakes and lights work well. It will cruise at 70-80 mph on the motorway. It can go faster but the tyres are not suited. It pulls nicely and the clutch is solid with no slipping.
The wheels are anodised black from new. The frame is in original condition and colour, black. This bike is a Japanese import and this colour was not available in the UK.
Someone at some point has painted the panels matt black.
I have concentrated on getting the bike up together and fully working. All it needs to finish it is a respray on the panels. I have been quoted £400 for a top job with stickers applied also.
Often when you park up people come up and start chatting about it.
It is a classic bike that is a lot of fun to ride and is built very well.
The only reason it's for sale is that a friend suddenly put his HRC enduro up for sale and I couldn't resist.
Serious people please! These are getting rare and especially in this condition. I know someone who road these bikes competitively back in the day. He said that for every one of these made Yamaha made 1000 road bikes.
