1992 Range Rover Vogue 3. 9 Auto
Sadly having to let this one go, as I just cant see myself finding the time to recommission it. According to the previous owner, this vehicle was first owned by Land Rover themselves. The K... EVC cars were built by Land Rover as test vehicles. They were the first Range Rovers to have catalytic converters fitted. They also feature aluminium tread plates and cup holders in the centre cubby. These were not features on other vehicles of the same era.
The mileage of 68, 000 is genuine. The vehicle comes with its original books, and sales receipt from Hunt Grange Land Rover in Tumbridge Wells. All MoTs from 1998 (36, 000mls) are present, as well as the original service book, stamped up to 31, 000 in 1996.
The 3. 9 V8 starts easily, and runs beautifully.
Brakes are non-existent. I believe the master cylinder has failed.
The exhaust is blowing
The interior is great condition. The seats are perfect, apart from a small cut in the O/ S rear. The headliner material has been removed, so this will require re-trimming. Genuine rubber mats throughout.
This vehicle is an excellent basis for a light restoration. It has never been welded, although it will require some now! Usual areas - The boot floor below the tailgate, the outer sills, and a few small holes in the inner wings under the plastic inner arches. The corrosion is fairly minimal. On a scale of Classic Range Rover Rust: It's about a 3 out of 10.
The bodywork is very straight, and much of the original paintwork is in good condition. There are a couple of small areas where the lacquer has come off, and a couple of very minor areas of bubbling. The bonnet has some scratches. The tailgates ideally require replacement. The upper is beyond repair.
A very easy resto when completed with this mileage will command big money.
Other bits to sort are:
Driver's door top hinge has worked loose from the door. This makes it difficult to open sometimes. Fog lights are missing lenses. N/ S indicator is cracked. Crack in windshield. Battery is on its last legs.
