Description
1935 Standard Big 12 De Luxe saloon.
(manufactured 1934 / reg'd 1935)
Really nice car in great condition.
Rare model, only a few known.
Older restoration, and known to my family since 1978.
Rust Free body and chassis. Good panel gaps etc.
Nice mellowed paintwork, it does have some marks, cracks and checking etc (It was painted more than 40 years ago) but still has a good finish and shines nicely.
Engine rebuilt in 2018 and in great order.
Recent full interior re-trim in lovely mid blue leather with wool carpets, re-varnished wood cappings etc.
Lovely underneath, fully painted, all cavities waxoiled.
Always maintained in top condition, regardless of cost.
(recent works include re-tempering the springs and fitting new shackles etc, complete fluid change, new battery, dynamo overhaul, wrapping the wiring in cloth tape etc)
Always starts and runs really well. It's never let us down in fifteen years.
Never been for sale on the open market, I bought it from the first owner named in the V5 (a family friend) in 2005. He is also named on the buff logbook.
I am the second owner on the V5, which is in my name.
I am only the fourth owner from new.
Huge file of history, paperwork, invoices, buff log book, manual, original advertising material etc.
Standard Owners Club member.
Mot exempt but always MOT'd regardless, and currently tested until August 2019 and taxed (free)
Not a concours car but a really good post vintage thoroughbred ready to enjoy.
Ideal for classic car shows, investment or to take to '40s events (it's very authentic).
Cruises at 45-50, very spacious for four adults. Good heater.
Lovely period original features such as wind-out windscreen, rear roller blind, working semaphore indicators (and flashers for safety) manual wipers, original dash plaque, correct tools in the boot, drop down boot lid with straps and cover for a luggage trunk, with matching drop down rear number plate and lamps
Lots of good photos available to email upon request.
No nasty surprises with this car.
Sad sale but my father recently died and it was more his baby than mine.
I'm thinning out my collection and I'm not using this enough.
Car is located near Goole in East Yorkshire (8 minutes from M62, Junction 37)
I have a large well lit garage and a four poster ramp and your inspection and test drive is welcome. I can assist your shipper.
