The 1950’s Giulietta Sprint was Alfa Romeo’s first attempt at manufacturing a sports coupe that would be produced in significant numbers. As testament to the success of this model the car was in production for over a decade from 1954 through until 1965. Today the Giulietta is regarded as one of the finest designs to come from Bertone and these cars are becoming highly collectible.
According to documentation files from Centro Documentazione Alfa Romeo, this Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint was manufactured on the 11th November 1959 and sold on the 1st December 1959 to Hoffman Motor Car Co., New York, USA. The body colour is Alfa Red with black interior.
The paint, body and chassis on this Sprint is in excellent condition and is totally rust and accident free, benefited from having lived in dry California its whole life before arriving into Australia in 2016. The body wears an older repaint in the original Alfa Red colour and the paint has a good lustre and an even shine.
The interior and upholstery is in great condition and the dashboard is undamaged with all instruments present and working correctly.
The matching type engine is very sweet and in great condition, giving strong power right across the rev range. Transmission, suspension and brakes are in excellent condition, and the car drives just as it should, with a nice tight feel. A full major service, tune up and brakes overhaul have been completed.
Today the car presents fabulously and it would be equally at home gracing the field at any significant classic car show or used out on the open road.
The car drives beautifully and runs on near new period correct Firestone tyres.
