Description
I very recently stumbled upon and acquired a very hard to find original Canadian 1 owner 1985 Yamaha RD500LC bike with only 17, 469km located in Calgary. The RZ500 was actually purchased locally 35 years ago by the original owner whom was an older gentleman (professor originally from England in his early years) and was an avid collector of rare cars and motorbikes. He is now deceased reason for recent purchase from estate auction. The RZ500 is all original and comes with 2 sets of keys, tool roll, etc. The solo seat was only an option in Canada and is not included. The motorbike was sitting for many years in storage due his age and health issues. After my purchase we obtained a new battery, cleaned up the engine and carbs and changed out all fluids. Started well but after a number of km of test driving it started to make some noise in the top crank area where we believe it could be a crank bearing (known to be weak on these bikes (video to support) however did opted to not split open engine to investigate in detail giving someone this opportunity. All authentic and original, only one small defect on bike showing a very small 1" crack on the bottom fairing however was patched accordingly . Overall condition is very, very good as one would except from an original collector bike of this rare and value sitting in storage for many years. Pipes are very clean and was never raced. I stand behind all I say. Cost to ship to Europe (major city) is approx $800 Euros. Lower price reflects bearing/ crank replacement which would have been a very good idea to go through engine regardless since bike has sat for a very long time. At the same time, the overall general condition and originality of bike is excellent.
