From the estate of an avid vehicle collector, unused since 1995, this UK supplied, Right Hand Drive Suffix D Range Rover is one of the most unmolested and original examples we have come across in recent years, and is now offered for sale as a restoration project.
Registered originally in Lincolnshire. We have the chassis plate and V5 document which shows date of registration as 1st August 1976, and only two previous registered keepers. The current registered keeper has owned it for the past 28 years.
The chassis is in remarkably good condition for its age. The body will require major works to all of the usual areas that suffer from corrosion; sills, bulkhead footwells, inner wings etc., as well as many body panels; tailgates, doors, wings etc.. Here at Famous Four we can supply all parts required for such a project.
One of the best colours in original Bahama Gold, with super orginal Herringbone Cloth interior, in remarkable condition for the age.
Matching key door locks and ignition barrel.
Original and un-molested dashboard, with no extra holes.
All original tools - jack, handles and Shelley foot pump.
Original Matching number 341----- engine.
Showing a mileage of circa 56000 which, although cannot be verified with any supporting documentation, could certainly be accurate when considering the overall originality of the car.
Lots of work is required to bring this old girl back to her former glory - engine and all mechanicals are unknown quantities, but will surely require attention. Bodywork is in need of a full restoration, but if you are seeking a worthwhile vehicle on which to undertake a full and detailed project, this one has the potential to be a beauty, and surely must be rescued from its current sad state.
Needless to say it will have to be trailered away!
