Ex Glenton Tours Mid body door AEC Reliance PYM 108F
It is with a sad heart I am putting my AEC Reliance up for sale, “Perry” as named by my children, is a 1968, Panorama 1 bodied Reliance.
• Was still used on a regular basis until about 24 months ago in class 6 service and last month went through his class 6 MOT with no problems.
• He is in a Strawberries & Cream livery, powered by a AEC 505 and has a 5 speed box.
• Internal configuration including the driver seats 31 persons; with 4 tables, making him a very sociable bus.
• Has the classic Glenton’s wardrobe as you enter to hang up your coats etc. Also has a galley at the rear of the bus.
• A fantastic stereo system fitted, to play those 60’s/ 70’s tunes that suit him so well.
• Amazingly great fun to drive and a very social bus to be in and drive.
• Able to motor and achieve the national speed limit, however cruises like a dream at 60mph on the big roads.
• Mechanically he drives and goes like a dream, I cannot over state how much fun he is to drive, probably more fun and enjoyable than my Routemasters!
• Been dry stored in a barn since we have had him.
The reason for sale is that my Routemaster operations are slowly expanding and getting busier, which means soon I need the space, plus due to being so busy with weddings etc on my Routemasters he is hardly ever used now as he does not fit in with our current operating model.
Although as you will all know, he is exempt for MOT’s now, we have just had him put through his class 6 MOT.
As well as using him in service over the last couple of years we have used him on our family holidays touring around the UK and camping with him. We have taken him all over the UK for our family trips/ tours.
Spares – I have a significant amount of spares for him – spare 505 engine (condition unknown), 6 speed gearbox, a complete front/ rear window (exceptionally rare!!), various side windows, half shafts, rear axle (no diff), fuel tank and many, many other parts. Depending on sale price these would come with him if wanted.
