For sale is my unfinished rolling project. I purchased it earlier in the year from a gentleman who’d owned it since the late ‘80’s
He took it off the road in 2000 and commenced a full rebuild. Sills, castle sections, d/ s wing, door skins were replaced, and other minor repairs carried out. Then striped/ primed and repainted in tartan red.
The engine was also rebuilt (it’s a 5 bearing one) and fitted with a mild race cam. Brakes were replaced, along with discs, king pins etc. Loom upgraded and re-taped. Front seats recovered, although they too need a clean after being stored. Rear seats would benefit from a re-cover.
The work took several years off and on, but whilst getting it back together, he was involved in a bike accident and because of his injuries, the MG sat untouched for several years. Due to a imminent house move he decided to finally sell the car on, and I purchased it back in Jan.
It is how I found it, with several years of dust covering it, and various storage scars and scratches present, however. The body is 100% rust free, and the underneath is as new! I have lots of pictures if required. I also have pictures and receipts from it’s rebuild.
Most parts are present to complete, but some refurbishment would be required (eg re-chrome bumpers, powder coat wires, new tyres, carpet) I do have a collection of parts I have assembled (Sebring valances, electronic dizzy, rad, Dynamo etc) but these are a to be sold seperately and NOT included in the price shown. This is a great project and will make a lovely early MGB!
Due to work commitments, I feel I just won’t have the time to complete it, and would rather sell it on and put the funds to buying one ‘ready to use’! so part exchange towards a useable MGB or any other classic would be considered!
Please contact me for more information/ pictures and happy to answer any question. Car is in Birmingham, so if possible, come a view!
