1980 BMW E21 323 AUTO
Just arrived this weekend is this super rare e21 2 door 323 automatic. Subject to a substantial period of recommissioning after being dry stored from 2000 to 2015. The previous owner acquired the car and set about restoring it to its former glory. It has benefitted from new front wings, replacement bonnet and a number of exterior items dechromed in satin black which compliments the other external black trim fantastically. The vehicle was then fully resprayed in a slightly more modern green than the factory hue which again looks great.
Mechanically this car is wonderful, I enjoyed a two hour drive across the moors this afternoon on some very clear roads demonstrating just how well set up this car is after a full overhaul of the braking system including fresh discs and pads and a recent replacement master cylinder as well as fully refurbished callipers front and rear and 4 new tyres . The cylinder heads have also been removed recently, all the valves re ground and new gaskets fitted. The last owner also decided to remove the sometimes troublesome fuel injection and replace with carburettors, the result is a wonderful driving vehicle that sounds amazing under induction . Furthermore a major service was completed with new timing belts, fan belts, thermostat, oil filter and replacement water pump.
The car benefits from a fresh MOT that as you can imagine had no advisories. It will also become tax and MOT exempt as of January 2020.
The interior is in fantastic condition considering its age owing to the fact that it has been dry stored for some long with the dashboard displaying none of the large multiple cracks that normally bemoan both e21 and e30 3 series. All seats currently have fitted seat covers. The very edge of the drivers and passengers seat rear squab could do with the edge of the cloth replacing as it has worn through. All the plastics and door cards as well as the headlining are in super condition.
As previously mentioned the body has been recently repainted so there is no rust to worry about save for a very small blemish below the OSR light (pictured) a number of trim items were also replaced at the same time .
This is an extremely sensibly priced e21 for sale at far less than the previous owner had invested in it. For sale due to a reduction of his (large) collection of vehicles. Ready to use and enjoy straight away.
