TOYOTA BJ-40 LAND-CRUISER

If you find the arguable delights of a classic Land Rover too crude then Toyotas revolutionary Land Cruiser; as offered here, might well fit the bill.
Introduced in 1951 as Toyotas version of the ubiquitous Willys Jeep, it remains an example of the Japanese art of successfully copying and improving on a western mass-produced motorcar!
This well restored example of the BJ 40 was built in 1977 and was sold new to Italian owners having been imported into the country in 1978.
The present owner decided to look abroad for a really good example, having been fed up with searching the classifieds and looking at so many tired and rusty Land cruisers, so often being marketed for sale in the U. K.
Restored by Angelo & Rosella Dellacasa over a five-year period, this BJ-40 still presents very well indeed.
The paint is shiny with the odd small imperfection, but generally is very smart indeed with its white roof setting off the Sahara beige paint rather well.
The interior is in superb condition with new carpets and a pair of comfortable and very smart Sparco Raptor 4x4 front seats complimenting the new and period correct rear folding seats, it also features a full roll cage.
Running and driving very well, the diesel engine pulls sweetly with no visible leaks or known issues, with recent tyres on black Weller style wheels, the over-all look is that of a constantly cared for albeit lightly modified example of Toyotas collectible BJ model.
In LHD, with full U. K. V5 complete with Historic tax status, this smart and recently restored BJ 40 offers a smart and useable entry into early land cruiser ownership, ideal for use here or abroad.
