1988 Honda CBR 750 Hurricane very rare rapidly appreciating classic.
Good opportunity to purchase this unfinished project that will become tomorrow's classic, try and find another one for sale.
Purchased bike early this year after it had been in storage for 5 years with the intention of returning the bike back to a good original condition project.
Removed panels, swingarm, mono shock and years of grime before fitting back, cleaned up the engine, primed and painted a couple areas of rust. Stripped carbs down, cleaned jets, float chamber and replaced float chamber 'O' ring seals, now no longer leaking.
Fitted new battery, fuel tank is clean with no rust inside just a small rust spot on the outside by the seat. Flushed out coolant system and the bike fired up and engine runs with no unusual sounds or smoke , it's a bit lumpy and the carbs will probably need balancing/ setting up.
Fitted new rear disc, brake pads all round, cleaned up callipers, cleaned up S/ steel Viper exhaust system, sounds great, but not too loud.
Acquired lots of spare parts as listed below and would say all the major parts are present. (see attached photo 6).
2x Nose fairing - one is new and primed with two set of headlights and indicators and one screen.
2x LH side fairing used condition age related.
2x RH side fairing used condition age related.
2x Belly pan fairing used condition both require some work.
2x Rear huggers one in good condition.
2x Rear indicator sets with number plate moulding mount.
Parts are fairly easy to find as the CBR1000 was a bored out version .
Selling bike as an unfinished project/ spares or repair as I now have a VW camper in my life and don't have time or the space for the bike. Transportation will be required to take the bike away.
