Description
1983 Suzuki Heron XR 41 Racing Motorcycle
This bike has been one of Suzuki G. B. race machines as ridden by Mick Grant and Rob McElnea in the Isle of Man during the 1983, 1984 and 1985 racing seasons. The machine was also raced in the Formula 1 rounds during the same years. This was one of four genuine factory Yoshimura machines supplied to Heron Suzuki GB Limited.
It is described that, in the 1990s, the bike has been fully restored and rebuilt throughout, by Nigel Everitt the ex-Suzuki Race Factory Technician who originally looked after it for Mick Grant when he was racing it. Bike is still having the same condition and has been stored carefully since then.
The machine comes with documentation from Yoshimura Parts of Japan Ltd., explaining engine details, gear ratios, oil and valve clearances, and practice lap times of the drivers, as well as Suzuki letter. There exists also a copy of a photo of the bike with Mick Grant and Nigel Everitt.
The XR41 served as a prototype for the iconic GSX-R750.
Bike comes with five boxes of spare parts and seven spare wheels.
Bike is not running. Has been stored the last 20 years.
