Description
Matching numbers. Triple carburetor, rust-free car in primer. Everything else has been done.
This original matching numbers 327/ 8 Cabriolet with the very rare added 80 hp [OZ 80] factory original triple carburetors has just completed the bare metal body work, panel fitting, and placed in epoxy high-build primer. Ready for your choice of colors. Prior to dismantling the car, I drove it for 3 months to assure that all the mechanical components were in good working order. With the rebuilt motor, she runs quite briskly down the road. Obviously no smoke from the tailpipe. I did have all three carburetors professionally rebuilt and a new hydraulic brake system installed. It does have a re-cored radiator and a new petrol tank. As well as all instruments refaced and rebuilt. The speedo was also rebuilt and set back to zero. The complete windscreen assembly is new with the original included in the sale.
BMW Certificate from Munich Germany accompanies purchase. Originally delivered to Ernst Henne on July 14th 1938 in Munich Germany. Manufactured in July 1938 and painted Duotone Green. Referred to on the BMW Classic Certificate as a 'Sportkabriolett'.
Everything has been either restored, rebuilt, or replaced with new original parts from Germany. Included are a brand new wiring harness with instructions, headlights, front twin grills, re-cored radiator, new windscreen assembly, rebuilt instruments and speedometer, rebuilt clock and front shocks. New petrol tank, steering wheel and bumpers[front and rear]. Re-upholstered leather seats along with three extra very large hides[ with enough extra to make a very nice pair of lederhosen], 5 new tires and tubes, NOS trafficators, new twin front grills, rebuilt windscreen wiper motors[two], refinished original wooden door panels, original door windows from the factory and the factory risers and aluminum top door trim[not shown in photos]. As well as three rebuilt carburetors and new air filters.
This is a rust-free original matching numbers car. The steel floors in this car are solid with absolutely no signs of rust. This is a great car to finish up.
This car is in two-tone primer, not paint. There is an extra engine block and all the original parts included in the sale. The extra re-machined block[73337] is just 9 digits away from the block that goes with the car[73346].
