Built and successfully raced in period by previous owner, here we have a genuine Norton Manx Commando race bike. Built over several years using only the best components available during its racing period, this highly specified race bike is available for sale for racing once again or used to build a special road going bike, possibly 500 Manx with engine swap or Cafe Racer. Dry stored for a few years now so would advise a full strip, inspect and rebuild but was fully functional prior to it stopping racing.
Frame - Genuine Goodman/ Sprayson Manx wideline featherbed frame manufactured from Reynolds 531 tube. Accompanied with a letter of authenticity from Ken Sprayson referencing the frame number stamped on the headstock.
Swing arm - Works type oval swing arm.
Fork - Roadholder Manx length forks - Dick Hunt alloy Seeley fork yokes & internals, complete with external fork springs.
Front Wheel - Norvil front wheel, disc, fork leg & brake calliper assembly on 18" Akront flanged rim.
Rear wheel - Triumph (R3) rear hub on 18" Akront flanged rim with lightened Triumph disc.
Brakes - Both front and rear brake assemblies are AP - Master cylinders and calliper assemblies. (Just Overhauled)
Engine - 750cc Norton Commando with:
Fred Barlow Cylinder Head
Mega cycle Cam
R/ D valve springs and caps
Polished Rockers
Hi - Compression Pistons
Crank Re Balanced by Bob Newby to suit Featherbed frame
Gearbox - 4 speed Manx.
Steve Maney outrigger bearing (new, never fitted)
Clutch - Bob Newby with 40mm belt drive and cover.
Exhaust - Hi Level 2 into 1 (This is the very exhaust system Steve Maney used as a pattern to make his ‘Maney’ exhaust system)
Carbs - 2 x 32mm Amal Mk1 concentric.
Ignition - Interspan electronic (With built in Krober rev counter driver)
Fuel & oil tanks - Genuine Lyta short circuit alloy fuel tank & Ex Ray Petty alloy oil tank.
Seat - Ex Ray Petty Manx suede seat.
Fairing - GRP full fairing and all brackets.
