This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Sale at Race Retro 2026 - Motorcycles on Sunday the 22nd of February, Stoneleigh Park, Stoneleigh Rd, Coventry, CV8 2LG.
Introduced by Norton in 1923, the Model 18 was their first overhead-valve production engine
It utilised their 490cc single and was known for its performance and reliability
In 1929, the model was fitted with a saddle tank replacing the previous flat tank
Benefitting from Norton's racing experience and improved throughout the 1930s
This mostly unrestored and original example is presented in good overall condition
Unused for some time so will require either recommissioning or restoring before use
Fitted with a period option lighting kit and foot change
Attached to a Swallow Launch sidecar in good and original overall condition from the same period
Unknown history but appears to have been registered from new in the UK from 1934
Engine turns over with compression
